Life Changing Kitchen
This client waited 18 years to have the kitchen of her dreams. I kept the design classic so that is consistent with the style of the early 1900's home. Click here to see more before and afters of this project.
New Bathroom - Before and After
The old bathroom was dated. The tile was worst part of the room. The layout was not changed but all of the fixtures and finishes were. I was also the general contractor for the job coordinating all of the trade people from start to finish.

Kitchen Addition to an Antique Lake House

| This is the where the kitchen addition will be built. |
![]() |
| This is the small addition to expand the kitchen. |

| The challenge was to add vaulted ceiling without moving windows on second floor. |
![]() |
| The addition allows for more sunlight and expands the view to the lake. |

| The vintage base cabinets were not user friendly. |
![]() |
| The vintage glass cabinets were kept, base cabinets rebuilt and refrigerator moved. |

| A center island allows for multiple cooks. |
![]() |
| The refrigerator location in the old kitchen was cumbersome. |
![]() |
| Moving the refrigerator into the corner allowed for a larger opening and eliminates an unfunctional corner. |
![]() |
| This was not enough counter space. |
![]() |
| An L-shape layout with an island allows for multiple cooks and much more storage. |
![]() |
| Windows all around allows for lots of sunlight and a connect to the outdoors. |

| Computer renderings I create to help clients visualize the space before it is built. |
I hope you can figure out which is before and which is after. The plans show the small addition and the small kitchen that was existing. A cathedral ceiling and lots of windows make for a bright and open space that looks toward the lake.
This is the epitome of casual summer cottage living. Simple, functional and welcoming.

Living Room Makeover

This room makeover was furnished from scratch. The client liked the wall color so I worked with that and developed a palette that complimented that color. The final touches and rug are still in the works.

Creating a New Space

This space was a challenge. The perimeter of the space provided no place as a backdrop for beds. I devised a partition that divided the space. This allows the beds to float in the room. The trim and doors were painted to minimize them. The focus of the space is the bed arrangement. When planning guest rooms consider two twin beds. You can separate or join them as needed. This will allow you to provide sleeping arrangements for two singles or a couple.

Mudroom / Laundry

A shared mudroom / laundry room does not have to be dark or dreary. Make it colorful, well lit and functional. In this small space I designed a bench area with beadboard and pegs for everyday coats and jackets. Front load washer and dryer provide an opportunity for a work surface. Open shelves keep supplies within easy reach. A pocket door gives gives flexibility to close the space off from the home's main entry and keeps the door out of the way when the space is in use.
