Cottage Kitchen Makeover

A knotty pine cottage is transformed using paint, new cabinets and lighting, and improving the kitchen layout. Wood tones were left on the ceilings and floors only. Walls and furnishings were painted to provide contrast and color.

Whole House Design

Tecnically, I am an interior designer, but design is design; and I can assist wtih whole house design. Here is an example of a whole house design where I designed the landscape layout and the exterior entry, while designing the interior.

Life Changing Kitchen

This client waited 18 years to have the kitchen of her dreams. I kept the design classic so that is consistent with the style of the early 1900's home. Click here to see more before and afters of this project.

New Bathroom - Before and After

The old bathroom was dated. The tile was worst part of the room. The layout was not changed but all of the fixtures and finishes were. I was also the general contractor for the job coordinating all of the trade people from start to finish.

Kitchen Addition to an Antique Lake House

This is the where the kitchen addition will be built.
This is the small addition to expand the kitchen.
The challenge was to add vaulted ceiling without moving windows on second floor.
The addition allows for more sunlight and expands the view to the lake.
The vintage base cabinets were not user friendly.
The vintage glass cabinets were kept, base cabinets rebuilt and refrigerator moved.
A center island allows for multiple cooks.
The refrigerator location in the old kitchen was cumbersome.
Moving the refrigerator into the corner allowed for a larger opening and eliminates an unfunctional corner.
This was not enough counter space.
An L-shape layout with an island allows for multiple cooks and much more storage.
Windows all around allows for lots of sunlight and a connect to the outdoors.
Computer renderings I create to help clients visualize the space before it is built.
The charming antique lake house had a kitchen that was too small to accommodate today's lifestyles. I designed a small addition that minimized the exterior modification. The layout is simple, functional, provides ample storage, and has room left over for people to hang-out in the space without being in the way.

I hope you can figure out which is before and which is after. The plans show the small addition and the small kitchen that was existing. A cathedral ceiling and lots of windows make for a bright and open space that looks toward the lake.

This is the epitome of casual summer cottage living. Simple, functional and welcoming.

Living Room Makeover

This room makeover was furnished from scratch. The client liked the wall color so I worked with that and developed a palette that complimented that color. The final touches and rug are still in the works.
